

Portrait of U.S. Army retired PFC Marissa Strock. Strock lost both her legs while serving in Iraq November 24, 2005 when the up-armored humvee that she was gunning in was hit by a command detonated IED that was buried in the road. Four 1.55 artillery rounds ripped through the vehicle taking the lives of SSG Steven Reynolds and SPC Marc Delgado. .Strock has been helped by and continues to receive support by the Wounded Warrior Project. The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors. It's purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women.
